How baccarat hand totals work
Card suits do not change the total. Add the card values, then discard the tens digit. For example, 7 plus 8 equals 15, so the baccarat total is 5; 9 plus a King remains 9 because the King counts as zero.
The highest possible total is 9. An initial two-card 8 or 9 is normally called a natural, so the round ends without another card unless the exact approved variant says otherwise.

Player, Banker and Tie are different wagers
Player and Banker are names for the two compared hands, not descriptions of who controls the cards. A Player wager wins when the Player hand finishes closer to nine; a Banker wager backs the Banker hand under the same comparison.
A Tie wager is separate. PAGCOR's casino manual requires baccarat layouts to identify Banker, Player and Tie areas and to display the Tie payout odds. The operator's approved table rules control commission, special payout conditions and any side bets.
